Will Frigid Air Finally Advance Into US Jan 20-25?

Wednesday, January 9th: What’s likely most important to the nat gas markets weather wise, is when sustained cold will return to the northern and eastern US. The weather models have been teasing frigid polar air over Canada pushing across the border Jan 20-25 since last week but just cant gain any momentum with it. The GFS model has been the most aggressive in pushing it across the border into the US while the European model has been to the milder side, seeing cold hold in Canada. The data has been inconsistent and the following image highlights how every solution/outcome is a little different. Some solutions show very cold air into the US, while others show very little, with some in between. We expect the nat gas markets want it to be convincing and that has yet to happen, which could disappoint.  The images below highlight cold over Canada, but unsure if it will advance southward.
