April 11, 2018:  Wednesday: Rapid warming will take place across the Great Lakes and East the next several days as high pressure builds overhead, warming afternoon highs into the 60s to near 70°F as far north as Chicago to NYC. During the weekend, a strong weather system will track through the central US with rain, snow, and colder than normal conditions as highs only reach the 30s to 50s, then tracking into the East late Sun into Monday for another round of stronger than normal demand. The southern US will remain mostly mild to warm with highs of upper 60s to 80s.  The first image shows the warmer pattern over the east-central US with highs for Friday as near 70F reaches Chicago to NYC for lighter demand.  The second image shows the weather system tracking out of the central US late this weekend and into the East for another cool down.
