Very Cold Morning Across All Of The Eastern US

The latest cold blast of Canadian air has swept across the eastern US, with hard freezes observed deep into the Southeast.  Overnight lows in northern Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia dropped into the lower 20s with freezing temperatures also observed over northern Florida.  The low pressure system that brought overnight snowfall to the Northeast is already out to sea.  Temperatures are running 15-30°F colder than normal this morning across much of the central and eastern US, which is leading to very high nat gas and energy demand.  Another very cold night is in store as skies clear out today.   This cold outbreak is impressive, but the upc0ming one set to barrel into the central US Sunday is even more so.
