Friday’s weekly EIA report is expected to bring a build between 35-40 Bcf, which is around 20 Bcf larger than normal.  A cold blast pushed deep into the Southeast early in the sample period (last weekend), but then weather systems at the end of the week failed to impress.  This led to near normal temperatures across the Northeast and Midwest.  The Southeast was colder than normal due to last weekend’s cold blast which brought freezing temperatures and early season snowfall to the Carolina’s. Much of the central and western US was warmer than normal and needed limited heating.  With strong production, it will take more than just the Southeast to drive strong enough heating demand to drop weekly builds closer to normal.
