Monday, July 10: This week will play out as the hottest so far this summer season as a hot dome of high pressure dominates much of the country with highs of 90s and 100s. The exception will be over portions of the far northern US where highs won’t be quite as hot. The Heat Index will exceed 100F east of the Plains over all but portions of the Great Lakes and Northeast to drive much stronger demand until minor cooling arrives over the East this weekend.
