Heating Season Off To Slow Start

The heating season is off to a very slow start.  The image below shows accumulated Heating Degree Days (HDD’s)  since the start of October compared to the 30-year average, a cold winter (2013/14), and a warm winter (last year).   You can see the total number of HDD’s is just over 50% of where they are supposed to be at this time.  There’s still plenty of time to  make this up, but clearly the lack of below freezing Fall temperatures has been pressuring prices recently.
