Friday Mid Day Pattern Update

May 30th, 2014

Mid Day Update:  Not a lot to update you on with what happens over the next 10 days.  Still pockets of very warm temperatures over the southern US through next week with areas over the Southeast getting into the 90s along with increasingly humid conditions.  This will drive decent cooling demand, but there still looks to be mostly pleasant conditions over the northern US and that will lead to limited heating or cooling demand and thus the reason for a decent net build over the course of next week.  The operational GFS has again trended quite a bit warmer to close out the second week of June.  If this comes through as we have been saying for quite some time, it will bring a marked increase in cooling demand.  The big market players are clearly not on board yet and it may take some time as the weather models have not been convincing, yet.  So while the weather pattern remains bearish for a little longer, at some point they will look much less so.  If the weather maps I’ve attached maintain this type of pattern from today’s runs, then the big market players may hear about it early next week.

Have a great weekend.
