Tuesday, Feb 6th: The overnight GFS data (black line) forecasts for Total Degree Days (HDD+CDD) showed strong demand this week as two cold blasts/weather systems sweep across the northern and eastern US. However, the data was milder trending around Feb 12-18th with forecast Heating & Cooling Degree Days below the 30-year normal (dashed line). It’s clearly this after Feb 12 period that the markets don’t like, aided by lower 48-state production remaining near recent all-time highs near 78 Bcf/d.
