Wednesday, May 23:  The pattern for the first week of June will bring increasing cooling demand over the southern US as hot high pressure expands out of the Southwest and across Texas and the South where 90s will become widespread. Demand will only be light to moderate across the northern US, but with the southern US getting hot, weekly builds will drop and could print lighter than 5-year averages. This will need very close watching going into the long Memorial Day Weekend.   Image shows Total Degree Days for June 2 with strong demand over Texas and the South.
